Teen Ministry from Journey Covenant Church!
We at Youth Journey believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, who died for our sins and the sins of the whole world, and in 3 days, rose again! We believe that by faith in Christ we are saved! We believe in God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit! We eagerly and humbly reach out in love to all as we serve God by serving others.

What's new this week at Youth Journey...
Week of June 22nd-June 28th
Hello Dear Family!
God is tremendously blessing our youth ministry! There seems to be a new spark, and it's growing! We have the High School and Jr. High curriculums under full swing, we have Paintball this Saturday, fellowship & BBQ after church on Sunday, FOA Camp, a trip to Magic Mountain, our Summer Retreat... and summer just started!
We have a Youth Journey led service this coming Sunday, at 9am. I will be teaching at the main service, and we are looking for youth volunteers! Taylor Kang is coming with his youth band, and Ilima Kung and perhaps a couple friends will be presenting the song she wrote and shared with us this past week! I'd also like to get the youth to hit the stage to sing Leeland's "The Opposite Way" as we talk about Philippians 4:8-9 by doing things as Jesus did, in many ways the "Opposite Way" of our culture! We need the following:
1. Camera Operator
2. Singers for the Opposite Way
3. Skit performers

We have new service opportunities starting this very Sunday at 9am, for High School students and much more coming! We're also helping ELF with another Garage Sale fundraiser in July, so donations welcome! Plus, we're having another Sunday after-church BBQ and game day for fellowship and fun at Chris' house this weekend!

9AM JR. HIGH FUN FOR SUMMER!
Starting this Sunday, we're opening up the Youth Room at 9am for fun games and activities for Jr. High students not attending or serving during the main service! From now through August, check-in at the youth room, and an adult leader and High School volunteers will be ready to lead some constructive and fun games/activities until the start of our own Youth Journey service at 10:45am!
Hey High School! Sign up to help run this and connect and serve! We'll have Bible Trivia contests and competitions, Bible Cranium team games, DVD team games, short movies from time to time, Dance Praise via projector, Worship songs, and more fun games and activities! Be part of the fun and let's have a blast!

CHILDREN'S GUIDES NEEDED!
Hey High School students! We have a great service opportunity for you, throughout the summer at 9am. Children's Ministry needs one of you to be a guide for the summer program on a few specific dates. Contact me to confirm your spot, and feel free to to it with a friend and serve our children! Check out the dates below!
Dates Needed: July 5th, July 12th (Day of JCC Picnic - Youth Service held at 10:30am at the park!), July 26th (We'll be in Big Bear for the summer retreat, but if you are still in town and would like to serve, no problem!), August 16th and August 23rd (We are at FOA, but if you're in town...). You are also welcome to serve more than once. Check with Chris and we'll make things happen! Thank you!

TAYLOR KANG from our Baja Mission's Team and South Bay Presbyterian Church will be leading us with worship songs at the youth service this Sunday, June 28th! Taylor always pumps up the energy and is raising money for college where he will be studying music and much more! He has great passion and has been playing at Awakenings Cafe and will be selling his own CD's for $5 each (6 songs total)! He'll once again be at Awakenings Coffee House on Saturday, June 27th! Join us there! Tickets are $5.00 and Taylor's college fund gets part of those proceeds! Please support our young friend and take home a CD!
Hot News for this month...
* PAINTBALL WARS! It's RSVP TIME!!! On Saturday, June 27th we'll be heading back to Hollywood Sports Park and playing paintball for the day! Discount group rate for us is $45 per person, and will include everything you need for the day, with picnic lunch, equipment rentals and paintballs.... awesome! If you have your own gear, you'll save $10 per person, but not required by any means! COme out and have a blast, as we arrange private matches and then create our own tournament for random prizes! 8am-5pm for an all day event! 8am check-in at JCC lot, with 8:20am departure. 9am check-in at location with classes & rental system, then 10am game time!

* Join us this Sunday, June 28th as we continue both the High School (Sex & Dating) and Jr. High (Starting: To go where God wants you to be) curriculums with part 3! There is a lot to learn and we are getting FACE to FACE with real issues, real problems, and real answers! We'll be in the Youth Room at our church location (2761 190th St. in RB) at 10:45am! * Weeknight Youth Journey Club (YJC), our teen Bible study and fellowship night is off this Friday, as we will be resting for a big day of Paintball on Saturday. We'll be back at the Kung's home in Torrance starting at 6:30pm in July! Dean and Monica will be leading us in the study of Revelation, while also turning a focus onto the life of Jesus! Give Yourself Away!
* Support Ishmael, from Zimbabwe that our teens are sponsoring via World Vision! The teens have been giving on behalf of Ishmael every weekend since January 2009! Ishmael lives in a region where HIV/AIDS is rampant and food and supplies are scarce. Constant prayer and support needed!
