We at Youth Journey believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, who died for our sins and the sins of the whole world, and in 3 days, rose again! We believe that by faith in Christ we are saved! We believe in God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit! We eagerly and humbly reach out in love to all as we serve God by serving others.

What's new this week at Youth Journey...
Week of January 5th-January 11th
Hello Dear Family!
Happy New Year! 2009 has already started with a miraculous movement of the Spirit within us. We are dedicating ourselves to becomming missionairies on 24/7 basis wherever we are and with everything we do and say! We thank God for bringing all 62 of us home safely from Mexico, and are gracious for the new friendships we have with the SBPC group, the ELF group, the church from Santa Cruz and also our buddies from Baja Bound Ministries. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEGAN!!!
This month we get to celebrate our first youth birthday of the year as Megan turns sweet 16 and becomes a legal driver... uh oh! Megan returns with the Baja Bound mission's team after leading us on our trip alongside of Anna, Matt & Wydarius and her prophetic words during the trainings about everyone "working 24/7" couldn't have been more real! It reminds us that we are always on a mission at all times and with all peoples. Thanks so much for helping to lead us during our Baja mission's trip, Megan! We appreciate you and will continue to follow your lead on many adventures to come! Next time... you drive! =)
NEWS for THIS WEEKEND....
* Celebrations are in full swing! Pam & Lee got married, our Baja Mexico mission's trip was very successful and blessed, we're starting a new year, more birthdays to cheer about (Megan, Michael & Ashley) and lots of upcoming events! We're back with a renewed vigor and passion, stronger than before and more hopeful than ever! Let all the world beware! What's your birthday? Make sure you're birthday is on our calendar! We love to know when we can celebrate together!
* PRAY FOR ISRAEL! The Hamas radicals (Islamic Jihadists) over Christmas and through the new year sent hundreds of missiles into Israel and the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are responding despite strong opposition from Europe and Russia. As the climate in the Middle East heats up, we must remember that as followers of Christ, we are to eagerly support God's chosen people (Genesis 12:1-3) and pray for them continually. Here are your Ministry Updates...
* Join us this Sunday, January 11th as we move into a series where we hear from each of our youth volunteers as part of our FACE to FACE teaching series on a new string of teachings, called "Matters of the Heart. It's a time of getting to know the Lord better, and re-energizing ourselves to be the best that God has made us to be in 2009! We'll be in the Youth Room at our church location (2761 190th St. in RB) at 10:45am! Just look for the big banner on the wall! For more details, and the full series schedule, Click Here!
* Weeknight Youth Journey Club (YJC) will be back this Friday, January 9th at the Kung's home! We'll be continuing the study of the book of Revelation, while also going back into the Gospels to get a closer look at Jesus in our hearts! Full schedule and details - Click Here!
* Memory Verse for January is Matthew 28:20, where Jesus tells us, "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

* MISSIONS TRIP TO BAJA, MEXICO! There is an incredible amount of momentum that has built up and the seeds for future growth has been planted! There will be a great deal of follow up information including sending donations down south, follow up weekend trips, another group journey and much more! For full details - CLICK HERE!
* ADVENTUREPLEX CHALLENGE! On Saturday, January 31st we'll be hitting Adventureplex in Manhattan Beach for a team challenge as taking on the rope course and rock wall. Details coming!
* 2009 BIG BEAR WINTER RETREAT! Mark these dates! From Friday, March 6th through Sunday, March 8th we'll be back in Big Bear for our annual winter retreat! Expect a simlar cost of about $80-90 per person.

PRAYER REQUESTS -
* Pray for the needs to be filled and God's love to be shared in Baja, Mexico!
* Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and bless God's chosen people (Gen 12:1-3)
* Pray for Pastor Alvin and his church in the Philippines and our mission to serve with them
* Pray for the Nygren's family friends who are off to Thailand to serve as Missionairies!
* Pray for our events and plannings and teachings!
* Pray for each other! May we always seek God and His Kingdom first!

- If you attend morning service, we can take your teens home after Youth Service! Please RSVP!
- Rides to and from weekday events can be arranged as well! Please RSVP!
